School Life

We follow the term dates set out by Wiltshire Council in order to maximise parental convenience. Pupils attend Wellington Primary Academy from Monday to Friday. The school gate opens at 8.30am in order to allow children to access the playground  chat to their class teachers and prepare for the day ahead. Reception and KS1 pupils must be accompanied by an adult until the bell to begin registration rings at 8.45am. We provide a variety of after school clubs for all age groups as well as 'Welly Extra' before and after school care.

House Buddy System

In order to foster teambuilding and a feeling of belonging, pupils at Wellington Primary Academy are placed into a ‘House’ system named after local rivers.

They are:

  • Bourne
  • Nadder
  • Wylye
  • Ebble

Siblings are always placed together and each pupil takes responsibility for their own role within their House. A competition is run throughout the year, with pupils awarded points for academic performance, effort or conduct and able to gain points in sporting, musical or artistic activities. The winning House is awarded the house trophy each week which is given to the House Captain and Vice-Captain in assembly. The system aims to encourage excellent behaviour and pride within the school community.
