We loved dressing up for world book day. We chatted about our favorite books and why we like them best. We made bookmarks and listened to lots of new stories. We also got together with the nest and did a costume parade, where the children were given the chance to show off their outfit to everyone else and have a picture in it.
In Snowy Owls we have been learning all about life on a farm. We were lucky enough to visit a local farm to watch the lambing. The children were also given the opportunity to feed and stroke the lambs. During our visit we witnessed 3 sheep give birth, one with twins, one with triplets and one with a breach lamb. We discussed how the farmers know how many lambs the sheep are having, and what they do when they have more than 2 lambs. After returning from the lambing we had a go at writing and drawing pictures about what we saw and did on the farm.

Snowy owls loved having a go at making some batter on Pancake Day! We discussed what ingredients we would need to make pancake batter, and why we celebrate Pancake Day. We then went into the food tech room and tried lots of different pancakes, with different toppings. We talked about the different toppings people put on their pancakes in other countries, the children decided however that chocolate was definitely the best!
