5th March 2020

Barn Owls have been looking closely at frogspawn and talking about how it will change over the next few weeks. We have enjoyed drawing it and have listened to some funny stories about frogs. We sang Five Little Speckled Frogs and practised finding out 1 less than with numbers to 10.

20th January 2020

We have had a lovely start to 2020 in Barn Owls. We had a few weeks using The Very Hungry Caterpillar to inspire our learning. We made fruit salad and did some printing with circles to make our own caterpillars.
We are now enjoying a story called Jasper’s Beanstalk. We will be practising the days of the week, talking about food that we can grow and looking at how plants are similar and different.
We have been enjoying our weekly Yoga session every Tuesday where we can have a go different stretches and balances.

18th December 2019

EYFS had a surprise visit from Santa this morning. He gave us all a present and we sang We Wish You a Merry Christmas to him. It was very exciting

In reception we made a sensory garden using plant donations and bulbs that we bought. We had a go at digging the holes, getting the plants out of their pots, burring them in the soil and watering them in. It was lots of messy fun!

14th October 2019

Barn Owls have been using the song '5 Currant Buns' to help us with our maths learning. We ordered numbers, talked about 1 less and really enjoyed making currant buns too

17th October 2019

We have had a wonderful time learning all about bread. We found out how bread is made and really enjoyed finding out about windmills. We made our own bread using a bread machine. It tasted delicious! We tasted fruit bread and toasted bread. We loved spreading butter on our own toast.

23rd October 2019

Barn Owls have been enjoying a spooky few days. We have been using the story Room on the Broom to inspire us. We explored sticky pumpkins, made witches faces to practise our cutting skills, we enjoyed a Room on the Broom dance session, made chocolate covered apples and we loved our special Halloween lunch. It has been so much fun!
