Gopher Labs Day

Last Friday we visited The Wellington Academy to take part in their STEM activity day in the Science department. The Science activities were run by year 8 & 9 students from the Academy. The event was to help further encourage their love of Science. Our children had a fantastic time getting involved in interesting questions, such as ‘How do butterflies drink?’, ‘Why do snails and slugs need slime?’ and ‘Why do leaves change colour in the autumn?’

It was fantastic to see all of the students investigating these topics and working together to uncover new ideas and knowledge. The Academy has announced that this day will be followed up with Science Junior Masterclasses, as well as the annual Wellington Academy Science Fair set to take place 14th March 2018, during British Science Week.
